I'm trying something new: capitalization. Sometimes it's just too much trouble to hit the shift key, and sometimes my hands hurt from navigating on the computer all day. But I digress.
Today's topic is Mozart's, a coffee house located on Lake Austin at the farthest west end of Lake Austin Boulevard. I don't go there often because it doesn't immediately pop into my head when I'm thinking of places to get my caffeine fix. Also, every time I've been there (about 3-4 times) it's been almost impossible to find somewhere to sit inside. There's plenty of seating outside, but sometimes it's just too dang hot or cold to sit outside.
The view is really great and makes this coffee house worth driving to. Floor to ceiling windows give you a view of the lake and the boatyard--I'm guessing this is what it's called; it's where people park their boats. If you decide to sit outside, there's a double-layer deck that has short picnic tables for seating. Given it's proximity to UT student housing, you'll likely see a lot of people with laptops and notes scattered on their tables as they suck down coffee.
And speaking of coffee, the coffee here is good. I haven't had too many of their coffee drinks, but the baristas seem to know what they're doing. You can also get juice, smoothies, and tea if you've reached your caffeine quota for the day. They have many desserts to offer, like cheesecake and Amy's ice cream, none of which are vegan. But they sure do look good and almost make me want to cheat.
Mozart's shares parking space with at least two pretty popular restaurants (I don't know their names because they're places I can't eat at), so it's sometimes hard to find a spot. There's a parking lot across the street with ample parking, you just have to walk a little further. They even offer a shuttle service, so if you have too much to carry or are just feeling lazy, you can let someone drive you there.
